What Is A Life Group
A life group is a small group, usually 5-12 people, who are members of Kingdom Word, who meet regularly for fellowship, support, and evangelism. It is critical in a church environment that everyone feels connected to the vision and mission of the church. By meeting in smaller, intimate life groups, we believe everyone can feel as if they “belong.”
Life Group v. Mid-Week Bible Study
Life groups will not replace mid-week Bible study or Transformation 360 but will be geared towards connecting members of the church to other congregants with common interests and activities. The atmosphere will be relaxed and non-threatening, so everyone feels comfortable enough to establish new friendships, prayer partners, etc.
Where Do Our Life Groups Meet
Life groups will be formed based upon geographical location, stages of life, marital status, common hobbies and interests, careers, etc. Usually, the groups will meet in individuals’ homes but can meet at coffee shops, businesses, or any other place agreed upon by life group members.
What Happens At A Life Group
Some activities that could occur include Bible study, watching a football game, going to the movies, going to dinner, golfing, knitting, starting a book club, etc. If anyone in attendance needs salvation, prayer, words of encouragement, or insight on a particular Bible verse, then the life group leader will provide that support. Members will be encouraged to invite un-churched friends, co-workers or family members to participate.
How To Become A Member or Leader of A Life Group
One can become a life group member by joining the church and completing the Transformation 360 program. To be considered for a life group leader one must have been a member of the church for at least a year and in good standing regarding church attendance, making financial contributions, and living a wholesome lifestyle.
